    I had extra blocks from my party on the block quilt so I added colour and turned it into a different quilt.

A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Tessa, the heart and hands behind this fun little corner of the internet. My journey into the world of quilting began when I was just 10 years old, sewing alongside my beloved nana, whom I affectionately called Bunny. Bunny's love for sewing and her patience in teaching me the art of quilting made our time together incredibly special. I still remember the joy and satisfaction of those early sewing sessions.

At 15, I discovered my very first quilt pattern, "Funky Blocks." With Bunny's guidance, I chose bright, bold fabrics and embarked on creating a quilt that taught me essential quilting skills—from mastering 1/4" seams to perfecting block placement. This quilt, a testament to my early efforts, proudly adorns my spare bed today.

Throughout high school, I continued to nurture my passion by taking fabric classes, learning to make clothes, though quilts always held a special place in my heart. I started making delicate baby quilts for friends, finding joy in creating something beautiful and meaningful for new arrivals.

Bunny gifted me a quilt journal to keep track of all my completed quilts—a keepsake that I treasure deeply. This journal is not just a record of my creations but a symbol of the love and talent Bunny shared with me.

Sadly, we lost Bunny in April 2024, and Quilted By Tessa is my way of honoring her legacy. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent so much time with her, learning and growing under her guidance. Through Quilted By Tessa, I aim to share that same love and passion for quilting with other mums, creating beautiful quilts and cherished memories.
